Harking back to the elegance and style of the Twenties, this hotel is a Vancouver landmark and has been sympathetically restored to offer every creature comfort. Over the decades this legendary hotel acquired an impressive and distinguished guest list, from Hollywood stars including Marlene Dietrich (and her 40 suitcases), Errol Flynn and Sir Laurence Olivier to entertainment kings Sammy Davis Jr, Bing Crosby and Elvis Presley. When Katherine Hepburn stepped into the hotel in the 1950’s, her list of requests led to the introduction of round-the-clock room service.
Location
Rosewood Hotel Georgia is located on the corner of West Georgia St and Howe St; Vancouver is quite literally on the doorstep. Stanley Park, the Seawall and a multitude of attractions, art galleries, museums and restaurants are within a short stroll. Vancouver airport is a 20 minute drive away and valet parking is available.
Accommodation
There are just 156 rooms and suites, which have a sleek, stylish finish and beautiful spa-inspired bathrooms. Rainfall showers, fine linens, Nespresso coffee makers, La Bottega toiletries, Bose docking stations and complimentary Wi-Fi come as standard. We particularly like the extra space in the Deluxe Rooms and the over-size bathtubs in the Premier Executive Rooms.
Dining
The Hawksworth Restaurant is regarded as one of the best in Vancouver and showcases contemporary Canadian dining in an elegant setting. Outdoor restaurant, Reflections, is adjacent to the spa and offers light meals and cocktails served between April and October. The 1927 Lobby Lounge plays tribute to the year the hotel first opened and is a lovely spot for pre-dinner drinks while Prohibition embraces the era of the ‘speakeasy’ and is a glamorous bar with a superb champagne list. Bel Café is perfect for morning coffee and light, relaxed lunches
Facilities
There’s a saltwater indoor lap pool, a fully equipped fitness centre and Sense – a Rosewood Spa, which is open daily. Rose Buds is a family-friendly service with a range of special amenities and items for families travelling with young children.
