Location
Rosewood Mansion is sited on a 4.6 acre terraced hill, in a quiet corner of Dallas’s uptown bordering its most prestigious residential area, the Park Cities. Since Dallas’s history was blighted with that fateful day in 1963, it has seen something of a cultural renaissance with the fine art of the Dallas Museum of Art or the more modern offerings of the Nasher Sculpture Center. Of course, for history buffs there’s the excellent Sixth Floor Museum, Dealey Plaza and the world’s most famous grassy knoll.
Accommodation
Once the palatial home of a Texas cotton magnate, the hotel’s 143 rooms and suites pay tribute to its grandiose history. All rooms feature artwork by local artists, carefully styled modern furnishings and Italian bed linens from Rivolta Carmignani. In terms of location, patio rooms offer private outdoor seating while poolside rooms are, well, by the pool. The classic interior design runs through to the suites and their powder rooms, helping you achieve that period Dallas look.
Dining
The Mansion Restaurant serves its own brand of haute cuisine, shaped by regional flavours and ingredients making it extremely popular among locals and guests alike. Dinner mains include venison, prime ribeye and shigoku oysters, served with white soy and crispy quinoa. Breakfast and lunches are equally indulgent with full Texas breakfast spreads and a selection of gourmet sandwiches. Look out through Palladian windows for views of the hotel’s terrace or step outside for al fresco, fireside dining.
Facilities
Living up to its mansion credentials, the hotel has a full range of excellent facilities. Cool off from the Dallas heat in the outdoor swimming pool or warm up in the health and fitness studio, complete with massage, steam and sauna rooms. Guests also have use of a complimentary sedan service within a five miles radius bringing you back to end the night with a drink in the private club ambience of the Mansion Bar.
