Location
Situated on a large private concession in the heart of the Zambezi Valley’s Mana Pools National Park, Ruckomechi Camp has spectacular views of the flowing river and the mountains of the Rift Valley. The camp can be accessed by light aircraft from Harare, or by road/boat transfer from Lusaka or Victoria Falls. The nearest airstrip is Mana West, located 20 minutes from Ruckomechi.
Accommodation
Ten tented chalets are tastefully decorated with local art and decorative features, with en-suite facilities and ‘wet-room’ style showers. The luxury canvas tents are solar powered, opening onto wooden decks that hold breathtaking views of the Zambezi River and passing wildlife. Other rooms include a family tent and honeymoon suite which features an outdoor bath, or the ‘sleep-out’ platform for sleeping under the stars.
Dining
Light breakfasts are enjoyed al fresco before setting out on an early game drive, followed by hearty brunches upon your return with lunches and afternoon tea served between game viewing activities and dinner. Dinner is a three-course plated affair enjoyed in the thatched dining room or under a star-filled sky.
Facilities
Home to a wealth of animal species, Ruckomechi Camp offers morning and evening game drives with experienced and knowledgeable guides, allowing you to see and learn about all the incredible diversity of wildlife that inhabits Zimbabwe.
