Location
The Sala Done Khone resort, right in the heart of the Ban Khone village, is located in the 4,000 islands area of the majestic Mekong River. Done Khone Island is renowned for its coconut groves, Buddhist temples and fascinating colonial history. The island is connected to neighbouring Done Deth Island by a short bicycle ride across the French Railway Bridge.
Accommodation
A collection of floating studios, bungalow-style rooms, a classic French colonial mansion and Laos' 'first eco resort' are among the accommodation choices at this attractive hotel. What connects these seemingly disparate room types is a sense of style and character that encapsulates the very best of the country's history, culture and nature.
Dining
The hotel has a picturesque restaurant that overlooks the river, and which serves good Laotian cuisine. It's the ideal place to sit back, relax and watch the sun setting. Breakfasts are included in the price of your stay.
Facilities
The hotel comes with all the usual facilities - a pool, a restaurant and a bar - but it's the surrounding landscapes, which can be explored by bike, kayak or on foot, which make this such a remarkable place to stay. The Done Khone Island is a beautiful location, just downstream from the Li Phi Waterfalls where you can do swimming, sun bathe on the white-sanded beach, or spot rare Irrawaddy dolphins in the river.
