Location
A serene and secluded oasis, located deep in the heart of the Namib Desert, Sossusvlei Desert Lodge is surrounded by mountains and sand dunes, overlooking the starkly beautiful Namib Desert. The small and exclusive lodge is located 248 miles from Windhoek, most easily accessed via the scheduled daily charter flights to the lodge’s private airstrip.
Accommodation
Ten luxury, air-conditioned stone and glass villas come with private verandahs, picture window, fireplaces and en-suite bathroom that open onto the wide plains. Each one also has a large star-viewing window right above the bed – providing truly ethereal views after sundown. All villas are equipped with a personal compact telescope.
Dining
A fine selection of wines from the walk-in wine cellar complements a menu of delicious Pan-African cuisine, created using only the finest ingredients. It's all served in the glass-fronted dining room with sweeping across the desert. Meanwhile, for something more secluded, guests have the option for private dining experiences that range from barbecues to desert picnics.
Facilities
Included at a stay to Sossuvlei Desert Lodge are excursions to Sossusvlei, Dead Vlei and Sesriem Canyon, alongside guided nature walks and rives, stargazing, quad biking and hiking trails. The lodge’s swimming pool is fed by an underground spring and makes the perfect spot to relax between game drives. At sunset, wildlife can be observed from the viewing deck while you sip on a sundowner before you head out to watch constellations of stars dazzle overhead.
