The Pillar & Post

Originally built in the 1890’s as a canning factory for the peaches and tomatoes that grew here in abundance, the upper floor was used as a supply storeroom by several hundred Polish soldiers training nearby in the onset of WW1, and the last can rolled down the production line in 1957. Today this beautiful building is a warm and welcoming boutique hotel, and vestiges of its history can still be seen in the original post and beam construction throughout the hotel.

Location

Situated on the corner of a leafy street in the picturesque town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, the Pillar and Post is only moments away from everything the Niagara region has to offer. The transfer time from Toronto is around 90 minutes, and Niagara Falls is located 30 minutes away. Valet parking is available and the hotel offers a complimentary car service between its sister hotel, The Prince of Wales, and downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Take your pick from the guest rooms available ranging from traditional, premium, deluxe and suites. If you are looking for extra space and luxurious open fire places, the Premium Rooms are the best choice. All rooms are comfortably furnished with plump, mattress-topped beds, some of which are four poster, and cosy duvets.

Dining

The Cannery Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily and takes its inspiration from the past heritage of the building, offering superb Italian dishes in a setting of exposed old brick work and beams dating back to the 19th century. Vintages Wine Bar Lounge is relaxing day or night and the perfect place to sit with a glass of local wine and enjoy classic pub-style meals. The Poolside Patio is open during the summer months for light lunches by the pool. Room service is also available.

Facilities

The 100 Fountain Spa offers and extensive menu of services as well as an indoor and outdoor heated salt water pool, natural hot springs and fitness centre. Guests of the Pillar & Post are welcome to use the facilities at both the Prince of Wales and Queen’s Landing and a complimentary car service is also available.
