Victoria Song Xanh Sampan

Journey south to Cai Be, in the heart of the Mekong Delta. Board the Victoria Song Xanh Sampan and depart from Phu An jetty at 10:00 am. Stop along the way for glimpses of local handicrafts that provide a living for the people who live near the river. Observe them from the comfort of your boat as life plays out on the river banks whilst your attentive crew will serve you tea and seasonal fruit. Before arriving at Sa Dec, go ashore to visit a pottery factory where everything is made by hand and all is recycled. Arrive in Sa Dec and take a stroll to the outdoor market. Also visit the house of Huynh Thuy Le, the real-life character of the novel and film 'The Lover' by Marguerite Duras.

Lunch will then be served on board while you cruise towards Can Tho along a narrow canal teeming with life. You will pass monkey bridges and tiny villages before stopping for a visit to a Cao Dai Temple. Cycle or row a small boat around the countryside to explore the surroundings, before your final stop over at the Nha Co, a 19th century house where you will enjoy a candle-lit dinner in an authentic countryside setting. After dinner, re-board the boat whilst it continues to cruise towards Hau River.

Please note that the floating markets in Mekong Delta are not tourist markets but wholesale markets, meaning the number of boats fluctuates depending on harvesting seasons and market demand.

Wake up early for a visit to the famous Cai Rang Floating Market, which runs from 05:00 am to 08:00 am every day. Breakfast will then be served on board while the Song Xanh navigates towards the market among local barges laden with fruit and vegetables. Later on, cruise towards Victoria Can Tho and disembark at the hotel's private jetty. Then journey by road back to Ho Chi Minh City, and get dropped off at your hotel.
