Introduction
November offers the best of both worlds. Head south for the start of the Southern Hemisphere summer, or enjoy some late-season sun or early-season snow closer to home.
Winter's on the way
November sees the Northern Hemisphere dip into winter once again, with Sicily enjoying the last of the late sunshine. But, with the shorter days comes fewer crowds at European highlights; Venice and Malta, for example, both still enjoy good weather. Then, for a taste of things to come, head to Norway where you can cruise through dramatic fjords and take in the Northern Lights at Tromso. The Arctic capital is ideal for a short break. Or, you can stay at Sweden’s ICEHOTEL 365 to watch the construction of its winter sibling.
Across the Atlantic
The USA welcomes with thanksgiving festivities while there’s further cause for celebration in the Caribbean, with the likes of the Bahamas and Costa Rica's east coast coming into their year’s best.
Islands, beaches & beyond
If you don’t want to go too far afield for some sun, look to the Canary Islands – Tenerife is a long-time favourite for its mix of beaches, star-gazing and spectacular national parks – or Madeira, with its dramatic cliffs and glorious, old-world accommodation. Portugal, while cooler, still offers some fine weather across the country. Meanwhile, in the Middle East, the likes of Oman and the United Arab Emirates offer an intoxicating combination of desert culture, mountain adventure and relaxing days on pristine, golden sands.
