Introduction
The fascinating Pilanesberg National Park is located in the transition zone between the Kalahari and Lowveld, offering a thrilling big game viewing in a malaria-free environment. Some of the park's most beautiful scenery can be found in the Mankwe Dam region, the largest body of water in the reserve, and the perfect place to spot water-buck, wildebeest, zebra, impala and other animals that make a stopover in the surrounding grassland. Located in the Bojanala region of the Northwest Province, Pilanesberg was originally owned by three of the local tribes and is now the fourth largest park in South Africa.
