Delhi
Arrive in Delhi and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Then, the following morning, it's time to embrace the chaos of India's capital as you live like a local on a morning market tour, experiencing the sights, sounds and smells of the Old Delhi Bazaar, where some of the city's best street food can be found. Enjoy a ride through the narrow, bustling streets of the market on a cycle rickshaw, followed by a visit to a local haveli and the chance to try some traditional Indian home-cooked food. Then, in the afternoon, take a tour of New Delhi, a complete contrast from the narrow, traffic-choked streets of the old city. Here you'll find gleaming parliament buildings, wide tree-lined boulevards, green parks and gardens and a wealth of British colonial architecture. Highlights here include Humayun's Tomb, India gate and the palatial President's House.

Agra
Check out of your hotel and transfer by car to Agra. Spend an afternoon at leisure, enjoying the facilities of the Oberoi Amarvilas, your luxury home for the next two nights. Tonight you'll enjoy an unforgettable live performance of Mohabbat the Taj, a musical representation of the story of the Taj Mahal, India's 'monument to love'. The next day, after a drive among the busy markets of Agra, you'll be treated to a guided tour of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Agra Fort. This walled city is India's most important, and perhaps impressive, fort, built during the 11th century for the great Mughal rulers of the 16th and 17th centuries. Then, it's time for a true trip highlight as you visit the Taj Mahal. Built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his third wife, this gleaming white marble mausoleum took more than 20 years and thousands of artisans and craftsmen to complete. Later this afternoon, enjoy a heritage walking tour to the Persian-style gardens of Mehtab Bagh, taking in the rich architectural treasures of the Mughal era and enjoying superb views of the Taj Mahal.

On arrival, check into the magnificent Oberoi Rajvilas for a two-night stay, followed by an evening visit to a colourful local market and a screening of a Bollywood movie at the magnificent Raj Mandir movie theatre, a quintessentially Indian experience. Spend the following day taking in the remarkable Rajput architecture of Jaipur in the company of your expert guide, beginning at the city's imposing Amber Fort, where you'll have the chance to ride atop one of the resident elephants. In the afternoon, you'll head to the fascinating City Palace Museum, the Palace of the Winds and the ancient observatory of Jantar Mantar before taking to the city's rooftops to enjoy an evening of kite flying, one of India's most enduringly popular pastimes.
