Between Patagonia’s glacial wonders, Atacama’s rust-red deserts and Valparaíso’s tumbledown beauty, this country-spanning tour takes in the very best of Chile’s landscapes and culture. You’ll begin with the capital’s colonial façades, bohemian neighbourhoods and foodie markets before flying south to Patagonia. Here, gourmet meals and a lakeside spa give way to guided treks and bike rides to explore national parks framed by glorious Andean peaks. Then, stopping by the capital once more, you’ll fly north to the canyons, dunes and salt lakes of the otherworldly Atacama before seaside Valparaíso’s historic hillside neighbourhoods bring your holiday to a fittingly colourful conclusion.

Arriving into Santiago, a private transfer will bring you to the neo-classical delights of your luxury hotel. Based in bohemian Lastarria, you’ll be surrounded quaint by wine bars, artists’ galleries and atmospheric alleyways made for exploring, while back at the hotel, French-style gourmet dining, a restful spa and a rooftop pool are waiting to welcome you home. In the afternoon, a city tour will take you further afield, beginning with the citywide views from Santa Lucia Hill, followed by the grand, 18th-century architecture of París-Londres. Then, after calling in to experience the Central Market’s colourful bustle, you’ll head for the food stalls of La Vega Chica to try a Cola de Mono – Chile’s version of a White Russian.

Choose from a programme of included excursions that range from guided treks, bike rides and adventures by horseback to kayak paddles and even fly-fishing trips. There’s also the option for full-day jaunts to the Torres del Paine’s famous granite spires, while the fjord cruise that departs from the hotel's pier is not to be missed. A private transfer and a flight will bring you north to the Atacama Desert and your next luxury lodge. Set in the shadow of Pukará de Quitor ruins and surrounded by the Atacama’s rust-red landscapes, it’s a stunning counterpoint to Patagonia’s glaciated beauty. At the lodge itself, no fewer than six outdoor pools look out across the Catarpe Valley as outdoor lounges and sprawling gardens set the scene for spa treatments and gourmet dining inspired by the flavours of the Mediterranean. In the daytime, included excursions will bring you between the region’s flamingo-dotted lakes, spurting geysers and moon-like valleys while at night, you’ll be introduced to the sheer beauty of the Atacama’s star-filled sky from your lodge’s open-air observatory.
