Discover the delights of Jordan on this tailor-made itinerary, where you'll combine visits to two of the country's most iconic destinations – Petra and Wadi Rum – with time relaxing on Aqaba's beaches. In short, this is an ideal winter escape. Start in Aqaba by enjoying languid beach days, infinity-pool indulgences and optional Red Sea diving, with a base in a luxury 4- or 5-star hotel. Then, transfer to Petra, visiting the spectacular Wadi Rum by 4WD on the way. Here, moon-like ochre mounds and delicate desert arches play host to Bedouin camps, prehistoric carvings and sheer canyons. It all ends with world-wonder that is Petra, exploring its ancient tombs and sandstone ripples with your own private guide.

After included VIP airport lounge access, board your flight to Jordan, meeting your private driver on arrival for the transfer to your hotel. You’ve got the next four days to enjoy at your leisure. Relax on the beach or head to one of the myriad snorkelling and diving centres for some epic Red Sea exploration, from coral reefs to shipwrecks teeming with reef sharks, dolphins and colourful fish. Downtown, there's the likes of the spectacular 12th-century Aqaba Fort and the fascinating Archaeological Museum.

Aqaba to Petra
After breakfast, your private driver will see you onto Petra with a stop at Wadi Rum, known as the Valley of the Moon. One of Jordan’s most impressive deserts, this sprawling ochre landscape is home to colossal rocks and several camps where Bedouin families still reside. After a few hours exploration in a 4x4, you'll be brought on to your Petra hotel. The Deluxe option is perched right at its entrance, all natural stone and wood furnishings flourished with Middle Eastern fabrics and murals. Or, opt for the nearby Petra Guest House Hotel, overlooking Wadi Musa’s mountains and featuring a restored 1st-century al fresco Cave Bar, along with stunning landscaped gardens.

Petra
After breakfast, begin your tour of the archaeological site of Petra with a private guide. Start with an optional horse ride to the old city's entrance, before walking through the dramatic narrow canyon to Petra itself. Built in 800BC by the Nabateans, the ancient city of Petra is world-famous for its steep red rocks, rippling pink sandstone caves and intricate facades carved out of the solid rock. After a full day's exploration of the site, return to your hotel to relax before meeting your guide for the stunning Petra by Night tour. Arriving at the Treasury bathed in candlelight to listen to music and stories about the region is a magical experience and a fitting end to your time in Jordan.
