Punta Roca is the legendary surf break that has put El Salvador on he map for big wave fans; Playa El Tunco also has great surfing and slightly smaller crowds whilst Playa Los Cóbanos offers good diving.
Wildlife holidays in El Salvador are centred around the Montecristo Cloud Forest and Cerro Verde National Park, on the slopes of a smoking volcano, with trekkers heading to Parque Nacional El Imposible to scale a stirring ridge.
