Enjoy included UK airport access before boarding your direct flight, landing in Mexico City later the same day. Arrive and transfer to your hotel for a three-night stay. Founded by the Aztecs, Mexico City is a mix of ancient ruins, colonial buildings and modern high-rises. A tour on day two takes in the Zocalo, the National Palace in Chapultepec Park and the Anthropological Museum, one of the finest on the continent.

Teotihuacan
A day trip from the capital visits the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, one of Latin America's most revered religious shrines, and the pyramids, palaces and temples of Teotihuacan, thought to have been settled around 100 BC and for a while the biggest city in the world.

Oaxaca
Fly to Oaxaca, once the centre of the Mixtec & Zapotec civilizations and one of Mexico’s most beautiful colonial cities. Located 300 miles south of Mexico City and some 5,000 feet above sea level, the city of Oaxaca dates back to 1529, but the region as a whole has been inhabited since prehistoric times.You'll spend two nights here, leaving you plenty of time to enjoy tours of the fascinating archaeological sites of Mitla and Monte Alban, the latter of which was capital of the Zapotec civilisation from 500 B.C. to 800 A.D and enjoys a spectacular mountaintop setting.

San Cristóbal de Las Casas
Fly to Tuxtla via Mexico City and take a cruise along the Grijalva River to Sumidero Canyon. Explore the colonial city of San Cristóbal de las Casas and visit the Indian villages of Zinacantan and San Juan Chamula.
