This grand, neoclassical landmark was heralded a National Monument in 2015 and spectacularly dominates the cityscape on the banks of the Singapore River.
With imposing columns, high-ceilinged suites and Italian marble floors, elegance is the order of the day here mixed with contemporary touches such as complimentary Wi-Fi and use of a smartphone during your stay alongside flat-screen TVs and fully-stocked minibars. Many suites are adorned with balconies, living rooms and floor-to-ceiling windows, or, to really spoil yourself, opt for the Presidential Suite, featuring its own baby grand piano, dining room, private glass-enclosed veranda and even a personal lift.
Dining is one of Singapore’s many draws, and Fullerton follows suit, from Town Restaurant's al fresco terrace offering traditional satays and fresh fish curries paired with craft beers to the Asian delights of Jade that serves up crispy roasted pork belly and roasted Peking duck with pancakes. The gorgeous Lighthouse Restaurant & Rooftop Bar offers authentic Italian cuisine paired with glorious panoramic views, while the sun-soaked atrium of The Courtyard is perfect for a refined afternoon tea alongside the gentle hum of the live jazz quartet. It’s all best culminated at Post Bar – a nod to the hotel’s former days as a post office – where the resident mixologists offer up postal-themed cocktails.
Come daytime, make use of the luxe spa, gym and outdoor heated infinity pool before exploring this fascinating city. The location doesn’t get much better than this – you're just moments from the National Gallery, home to the world's largest collection of South East Asian art, and iconic Raffles Landing in the city's lively core, Boat Quay. You're also just moments from the buzzing nightlife of Clarke Quay and just a pleasant 20 minute stroll to the spectacular Gardens by the Bay, home to the world's largest indoor greenhouse and waterfall. A few minutes away via taxi or train and you’ll find the spice markets of Little India and homely hole-in-the-walls in Chinatown, or further afield, the idyllic beaches and thrilling theme parks of Sentosa Island.
