Introduction
Cayo Ensenachos is an unspoiled, tropical island in the Jardine del Rey archipelago to the north of mainland Cuba. The archipelago is a major part of the Sabana-Camaguey archipelago that stretches from Varadero in the west and Cayo Sabinal in the east, and it's arguably the most beautiful and easily accessible stretch, too. The islands have been attracting visitors for many years and provided inspiration for Ernest Hemingway's novel Islands in the Stream.
Cayo Ensenachos hosts a number of luxury resorts and two excellent beaches, Playa Megano and Playa Ensenachos - both of which are perfect for a spot of R&R. The sea is calmer here than at Cayo Santa Maria in the east and with over 80 species of endemic wildflowers and wildlife, there's plenty to see above and below the waves.
