Amanoi, Nha Trang

Location 

The spectacular surroundings of the Nui Chua National Park create the dramatic setting for this breathtaking Aman resort, set on one of Vietnam’s most beautiful and secluded bays, Vinh Hy. The hotel itself is positioned on a forested hillside, 55km south of Cam Ranh Airport. All around, mountains spill down to a spectacular coastline abutted by sand dunes, while just off the coast a marine reserve is home to thriving corals, turtles and tropical fish.   

Accommodation 

The surroundings may be nature at its wildest but the resort itself is the last word in contemporary luxury. The 31 Guest Pavilions, a number of which have private pools, and five Aman Villas, which come with their own live-in housekeeper, are all positioned on the hillside, with impressive views of the national park, beautiful Vinh Hy Bay and the East Sea beyond. All feature spa-like bathrooms, open-plan living and sleeping areas, king-size beds, timber sundecks with comfy loungers, and modern conveniences like Wi-Fi and iPod docking stations. 

Dining 

You need barely move from the beach or pool when it comes to eating here. The beachfront restaurant is ideal for casual dining, while the inside, air-conditioned restaurant is a little smarter and has an expansive terrace and breathtaking views. The food served at both is Vietnamese gourmet cuisine, and there’s an extensive wine list on offer too.  

Facilities 

Made for unwinding, the Amanoi’s spa has five double treatment rooms, all with double bathtubs, private dressing areas and showers. For fitness there’s a spacious gym, Pilates studio, lakeside yoga pavilion, two outdoor tennis courts and two pools, one close to the central pavilion on the hill, the other at the beach club. And that’s just at the hotel. If you’re looking to explore the area, they’ll gladly arrange walks in the national park or snorkelling and diving excursions.
