Location
The family-owned Avondrood Guest House is tucked away in a peaceful, leafy corner of Franschhoek, one of the oldest towns in South Africa, right in the heart of the Cape Winelands with views of the surrounding mountains. It’s a short stroll from a plethora of excellent restaurants and cafes, and within easy reach of some of South Africa’s finest vineyards.
Accommodation
Each of the eight individually-themed rooms and suites comes with an extra-length king-size bed and a spacious en-suite bathroom with underfloor heating, large Victorian bathtubs, showers, fluffy bathrobes and luxury toiletries. The poolside Luxury Suites come with private terraces, while two of them also have cosy fireplaces. The Mountain Suite, meanwhile, features a lounge area and a private patio, along with panoramic mountain views. Luxury and Deluxe Rooms are no less charming, and all come with air conditioning, a safe and tea and coffee making facilities.
Dining
A fresh and plentiful breakfast is prepared each morning in the farmhouse kitchen, complemented by locally roasted coffee. As Franschhoek is renowned for its culinary scene, there are many superb options for eating out nearby. Don’t hesitate to ask for local recommendations.

The cosy reception area is a delightful relaxation spot, with timber-beamed ceilings, an open fire and plush sofas. You can also cool off in the outdoor pool, nestled among private gardens.
