Located in the historic Cape Winelands town of Stellenbosch, around 45 minutes by car from Cape Town, Majeka House offers guests a luxury boutique retreat in one of South Africa's most picturesque settings. The hotel's eclectic style achieved Best Design Hotel in Africa & the Middle East at the Condé Nast Johansens Awards in 2017, thanks to a collaboration between designer Etienne Hanekom and the owners. Accommodation

Accommodation at Majeka House is split across four different categories - Mountain View Selection, Premier Collection, Garden Alternative and Poolside Choice. Mountain View Selection rooms, as the name would suggest, boast wonderful views across the herb garden, koi pond and surrounding mountains. Premier Collection rooms have been fully refurbished and offer luxurious tranquility and creative use of space, ideal for everyday living. Garden Alternative rooms are slightly larger than those in the Premier Collection and come with a spacious terrace and semi-private pool. The two Poolside Choice suites combine a clever use of indoor space with all the benefits of open-air living. They share a 10-metre private lap pool and are located in their own section of a peaceful, private forest. All rooms feature a luxury en-suite bathroom, free WiFi, air conditioning, flat screen television, safe, DVD player, access to a DVD library, mini bar, telephone and private balcony or terrace.

Dining

Elegant and stylish, the hotel's recently renamed Majeka Kitchen serves an innovative menu curated by Head Chef Lucas Carstens. The unique small plates menu, with optional wine pairing, is a highlight. Dishes showcase fresh, local ingredients including foraged plants, vegetables from the hotel's garden, organic farm produce and fresh seafood harvested by local fishermen. Relax with a cocktail at the sophisticated Majeka Lounge – a speciality is the fynbos mojito – or enjoy some snacks on the terrace in the sun.
