Rail journey
Harking back to travel's golden age, Belmond’s luxurious Britannic Explorer honours pioneering tradition of exploration, traversing the rolling hills, verdant landscapes and picturesque market towns of Britain on a selection of immersive itineraries.
Accommodation
The train’s 18 luxurious cabins include 15 Suites and three Grand Suites, with the former cleverly designed to maximise space, transitioning from daytime lounge to night-time sleeping quarters. Additional amenities include a marble vanity and a luxurious en-suite bathroom with a shower. The Grand Suites, named after British botanicals, are adorned with antique mirrors and an intricate palette of rich reds, mellow greens and soft blues inspired by English country gardens. Each features a double bed, a dining table and a marble-clad en-suite bathroom. Grand Suite guests also benefit from the services of a personal butler.
Dining
A pair of elegant dining cars are enhanced by woven rattan panels, antique mirrored ceilings and floral lights. Menus are by renowned restaurateur and chef Simon Rogan, a pioneer of Britain’s farm-to-fork movement, with dishes designed to showcase the rich diversity of Britain’s culinary heritage. Naturally, there’s a focus on fresh, seasonal and regional ingredients. At the heart of the train, The Observation Car features timber panelling, ochre banquettes and stylish armchairs where guests can savour botanically inspired cocktails as well as gins and beers sourced from the finest of the UK’s independent distilleries and breweries.
Wellness
Perfect for a spot of additional indulgence onboard, the train's wellness suite offers the chance to relax in style with a massage or treatment, while the likes of morning runs and yoga classes are also available. Grand Suite guests receive one complimentary spa treatment per journey.
Routes
A carefully curated selection of routes take in the very best of British culture, cuisine and natural world. There's a trip taking in the delights of the Cornish coast, mixing in local wine tastings and gallery visits with the chance to soak in stunning sea views. Or, perhaps explore the beauty of the Lake District, where a visit to a Victorian estate will see you mix wild swimming with guided hikes before heading south for an evening at Raymond Blanc's Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons. Then, in Wales, there's the chance to explore the rugged beauty of Snowdonia and the Pembroksshire Coast.
