This family-run jewel boasts that it’s “the only luxury gourmet hotel in the heart of the Dolomites”. And, with good reason – there are no fewer than four restaurants, alongside a wine cellar, cheese room and chocolate workshop. Then, across its chalet-chic buildings, balconies invite in gorgeous views of its Dolomites surrounds. Expect everything from pine furnishings to spa facilities and an indoor pool.
Of course, there’s a strong focus on dining. And, once you’ve finished tasting the cheeses and chocolates on offer, you’ll be treated to a 2,000-label strong wine collection, matched by a the finest in organic food. Think lobster tagliolini and Milanese veal cutlet, with many ingredients sourced from the vegetable garden. Take your meal on the terrace for the best backdrop.
The rooms are just as impressive, dressed in gorgeous timber panelling, plush rugs and handicraft textiles. Many come with a balcony or verandah for those all-important views of the UNESCO-listed Dolomites. The suites are a particular favourite, complete with large outdoor spaces, rich furnishings and – in the penthouse – a private Jacuzzi and sauna.
Then, after exploring the surrounding mountains on hikes and drives, soothe any sightseeing aches in the spa. Not only is there a full complement of massages and beauty treatments, but there’s everything from a hot tub and sauna to Turkish and whirlpool bath. There’s even a generously sized indoor pool, along with the obligatory fitness centre.
