COMO Castello Del Nero, Chianti

Location

Found in the rolling Chianti hills in Tuscany, this is one of the largest private landholdings in all of Chianti at 740 acres. Even the coast is just a scenic hour’s drive away. Drive through vineyards, orchards and olive groves to reach this historic castle with its fresco walls and vaulted ceilings remaining untouched, while Milanese interior designer Paola Navone has introduced a light and modern touch.

At the centre of this estate is a 12th century castle, furnished in grand Tuscan tradition. It’s all been carefully restored using traditional construction techniques and materials so as to preserve its original beauty. Choose between 50 rooms and suites within the castle and contemporary Italian accommodations overlooking the olive groves and across the surrounding Chianti countryside.

For a sumptuous fine-dining experience, head to the Michelin-starred La Torre where the Chef’s menu combines the freshest local and organic produce with Tuscany’s finest delicacies. Alternatively, immerse yourself in the flavours of the elegant yet informal La Taverna and Pavilion. La Taverna features a relaxed bar, where you can choose from a selection of Italian-inspired dishes and an extensive drinks list. There is also a wine cellar set in the original twelfth-century castle.
