Location

Chania’s Venetian harbour, labyrinth of shopping streets, covered market and museums are two and a half miles from the glorious crescent of sandy beach at Agioi Apostoli where this deluxe adults-only resort is situated. Domed rooms and suites with beige façades are linked by a series of arches (imitating the stone yards where the Venetians built their ships) and cluster around two large pools. A shrub-fringed path leads to the main pool, with panoramic seaviews and its own swim-up bar. Sunbeds line the sandy beach in front of the resort. And in between, bean bags and scatter cushions dot the grass, inviting lounging. 

Accommodation

There are 83 rooms grouped around two large pools. Style is ultra modern with quirky details and a fresh colour scheme: high white walls, aquamarine furnishings, domed ceilings, wooden flooring and furnishings, black metal ironwork, hammocks or rocking chairs, Coco-Mat bedding and plenty of lighting options. All rooms categories have outdoor bathtubs and a terrace, many have private plunge pools. Domes' unique 'Haute Living' concept benefits are offered to guests staying in premium room categories.

Dining

Breakfast buffet is in keeping with the hotel’s healthy ethos: beetroot and kale smoothies, fresh juice, dried fruit and raw food, but also cold cuts and cooked options. Zeen restaurant serves creative Cretan cuisine (plenty of vegetarian options) using locally sourced ingredients. The Raw bar by the pool serves a small selection of Hawaiian poké, sushi and maki, overlooking the Aegean Sea. 

Facilities

There are two good-sized swimming pools, one offering a 'quiet zone', the other sea views. A pretty little basement spa has jetted plunge pool, sauna, steam room and an elegant relaxation area. Elemis treatments include anti-ageing skin therapies and a range of relaxing massages from a 45-minute Frangipani Head and Scalp Massage, there’s a well equipped gym; also an outdoor fitness centre where yoga and other classes are held in sight of the sea.
