Location
This esteemed gentleman of Verona is situated right in the city’s historic centre, next to the church of St. Anastasia, a Gothic masterpiece completed in the year 1400. However, eminently walkable, Verona’s attractions are all just an atmospheric stroll away through its maze of Roman streets, whether it’s Juliet’s balcony, the city’s historic piazzas or the ancient amphitheatre – one of the world’s great opera venues. Be sure to book ahead for the latter and try and coincide your trip with the annual summer opera festival, exhibiting greats from across Italy and the globe.
Accommodation
Sited in a 14th century palace by the name of ‘Palazzo Dell’Aquila’, Due Torri is numbered among the key historical residences of the city and is recognised among ‘The Leading Hotels of the World’. Its distinguished history has seen it host such historical events as the coronation of King Louis XVII and Napoleon’s signature of the Treaty of Villafranca. And it continues as a status symbol to this day, with rooms featuring handcrafted marble, mosaic decorations, pure linen bed sheets and satin quilt covers. Upgrade for city views and antique Biedermeier furnishings, complemented by precious wall tapestries and matching carpets.
Dining
While the hotel continues to put on banquets, it’s the two restaurants that will appeal the most. Located in the grand lobby, the Due Torri Lounge & Restaurant is ideal for everything from candlelit suppers to whole gala dinners; it’s an experience that has won it three forks from Michelin for its innovative takes on traditional classics. Your other choice is the hotel’s rooftop offering, whose terrace features panoramic views across Verona from St. Peter Castle, across the Roman centre and out to the Torricelle Hills. Its grill specialities range from prime ribs to immaculately dressed lamb chops.
Facilities
To continue your regal experience, consider booking onto one of the experiences on offer. Whether you’re interested in the city’s design boutiques, local produce, vintage heritage or arts and crafts, we’ll be able to organise an exclusive tour. Back at the hotel, you might want to relax with a mixologist-created cocktail either in the lobby or on the panoramic roof terrace while complimentary high speed WiFi mixes in more modern comforts.
