Location
The former summer residence of the Golfín family, the Hospes Palacio de Arenales & Spa is housed in a beautiful 17th-century property in the heart of historic Cáceres. Located just 10 minutes from the city centre, it's surrounded by stunning natural beauty, a UNESCO World Heritage site where scented olive groves provide sanctuary for around 80 nesting storks.
Accommodation
The hotel has 46 rooms, all of which feature modern décor that contrasts perfectly with the building's historic façade. Book a standard 'Dreamer' room with queen or twin beds, complimentary WiFi and Egyptian cotton sheets, or perhaps upgrade to a larger Deluxe room with views out to the Extremaduran countryside; each one is meticulously furnished matching soft colours palettes with wooden floors to create a strikingly contemporary look. For more space, and a touch more character, the Duplex Junior Suites have something of a country-house aesthetic with wooden beams framing the upper level. They also have space for an extra bed so are ideal for families.
Dining
The hotel's excellent restaurant, Las Corchuelas, showcases the finest in local cuisine, its menus fusing traditional Extremaduran flavours with modern, signature dishes and a wine list to match. There’s also a delightful café, perfect for a refreshing summer drink or tasty tapas, and a bar where guests are invited to enjoy a glass of Cava on arrival.
Facilities
With its outdoor pool, spacious terrace and landscaped gardens, the hotel is a relaxing oasis just minutes from town. Furthermore, there's an excellent spa, fully equipped for hydrothermal treatments alongside a modern gym. For keen golfers, there’s a golf course just four kilometres away.
