Fable Auckland

Location

Formerly the Grand Windsor, this historic hotel was built in 1928, and at ten storeys tall was known as Auckland's first skyscraper. Situated only a couple of streets away from the waterfront, you're within easy reach of world-class restaurants and ferry and boat connections from the commercial harbour. Heading into the city, you'll find the iconic Sky Tower, with panoramic views from the top, and the Auckland Domain, a park built around an extinct volcano, as well as boutique shops, museums and geothermal spas.

Accommodation

Rooms range from classic queens to luxurious suites. Taking into account the building's unique history, each room is inspired by the Art Deco style of the 1920's, but with a contemporary edge. Crisp white linens are offset by jewel-toned accents and elaborate wallpaper designs for a truly vintage luxe feel. Rooms also feature large Smart TVs, Bose speaker systems, high-speed WiFi, Nespresso coffee machines, and elegant T2 tea sets.

Dining

The hotel was originally built to house a restaurant, so today's in-house eatery Cooke's Restaurant & Bar pays homage to its memory. Focusing on wholefoods and fresh, local ingredients, the menu features classic dishes with a modern twist. Also worth sampling is the traditional Afternoon Tea, an indulgent experience best enjoyed with a glass of champagne. Finally, the bar menu includes a host of delicious cocktails; including the signature Luscious Dainty, the hotel's take on strawberries and cream; and a range of local and international beers and wines.

Facilities

All guests of the hotel will enjoy access to a jacuzzi and sauna, which can also be booked out in advance for a private relaxation experience. The on-site gym is equipped for a range of workout styles, with bikes, treadmill and weights on hand to ensure you get your fitness fix. From early 2020, guests will also be able to visit the spa for rejuvenating treatments and package options to help you feel refreshed.
