Location
Offering exactly what it says on the tin, Hotel Haven is a small and stylish retreat in the heart of the Finnish capital, beside buzzing Market Square and overlooking the South Harbour. Helsinki makes for an ideal city break, with stunning Art Nouveau buildings to admire and superb art, design and architecture museums to look around. One of the most popular attractions is the sea fortress of Suomenlinna, which is built across five islands and can be reached via a scenic ferry ride.
Accommodation
The 77 rooms are split into five categories: Comfort, Style, Lux, Lux Sea View and Suite. All room types are tastefully, classically decorated – no retro-futuristic egg-shaped chairs here – and offer luxuriously soft king beds, Egyptian cotton sheets, Bang & Olufsen entertainment systems and spa-like bathrooms with TVs on the wall and Elemis bath products on the shelves. As the name suggests, the Lux Sea View rooms offer the finest views of Helsinki Harbour, while at 80 square metres, the suites offer space and comfort in equal measure.
Dining
Adjacent to the hotel is Havis, a fine-dining restaurant that serves the best of Finnish and international cuisine, while Bar Haven, the hotel’s chic and welcoming lounge bar, offers over 100 whisky and rum varieties. The central location means you’re also perfectly placed to go exploring Helsinki’s many fabulous bars and restaurants. The front-of-house staff will be only too happy to make recommendations.
Facilities
Relax with a book by the fire in the elegant lobby, work up an appetite for dinner in the private gym, or admire the harbour views from the outdoor terrace.
