Location
Phu Quoc is Vietnam’s largest outlying island, located in the Gulf of Thailand near the border with Cambodia. It’s home to swathes of lush jungle, colourful coral reefs and some of Vietnam’s most idyllic beaches. It’s on one such beach that you’ll find La Veranda, a beautiful mansion in French colonial style, surrounded by lush gardens.
Accommodation
Choose between rooms in the mansion or separate villas dotted throughout the grounds. In-room facilities include iPod docking stations, DVD players and complimentary Wi-Fi – modern amenities that serve as a minor distraction from the traditional Vietnamese art, beautiful dark-wood furnishings, private terraces and gorgeous beach or garden views. Villas offer yet more space and privacy. Classic Villas are able to accommodate two adults and a child, while La Veranda - Ocean View Suites feature a living room, spacious bathroom with separate bathtub and shower, and a private garden and large terrace.
Dining
The Pepper Tree Restaurant, commanding excellent views across the ocean, is the ideal place for a romantic dinner. Alternatively, visit Le Jardin, an outdoor dining area located on the hotel’s immaculate lawn overlooking the sea. It serves a range of Italian pizzas, and healthy, hearty meals, making it perfect for a relaxed family lunch, afternoon snack or evening drink. Other options include gourmet beach barbecues, Vietnamese street food, and freshly caught seafood.
Facilities
Embrace the art of Vietnamese cuisine in a cookery class taught by the resident chef, indulge in a range of rejuvenating treatments at the resort’s spa, head to the gym or the outdoor pool, or make the most of the island itself with snorkelling and fishing trips, island tours, bike hire and even sunset and night-time squid fishing trips.
