Location

Bolivia's Uyuni Salt Flats – the world’s largest – covers over 4,000 square miles, comprising giant cactus islands and fluorescent, flamingo-troubled lagoons. Comprising a collection of innovative salt igloos, the rooms are set under great domed salt ceilings. In fact, everything from the walls and the floor to the tables and chairs are made from the salt blocks. The salt sculptures, dotted throughout the hotel, are an atmospheric touch. Palacio del Sal’s signature El Mesón restaurant makes use of local ingredients to showcase traditional dishes that combine gourmet sensibilities with classic authenticity.
