Location

Located on the shore of Piney Creek, the Ranch at Ucross is 28 miles from Bighorn National Park and a perfect stopover between the Black Hills of Dakota/Devils Tower and Yellowstone Park. In the state of Wyoming, classic cowboy country, Ucross is 25 miles from downtown Sheridan, and 17 miles from Buffalo with its fascinating frontier heritage and spectacular vistas.

Accommodation

The 31 rooms at the ranch have old cowboy country décor, while the historic Ranch House offers a cosy B&B ambiance, while the Aspen Cabins are suitable for families and groups. The Pineys have the addition of a private deck or balcony overlooking Piney Creek whereas The Lodge and Hunting Lodge, separate from the main complex each feature 6 private sleeping rooms, a great room and The Lodge has its own wide deck. All rooms have private facilities, air conditioning and Wi-Fi, but no TV.

Dining

Buffet breakfasts and dinners are included here as part of the package. All meals are served in the rustic dining room with fabulous views of the surrounding countryside and there is a bar and lounge area for relaxing with a refreshing drink after a day on the ranch. The breakfasts offer a range of dishes for hearty appetites and lighter eaters while sumptuous buffet dinners include fresh-caught trout and prime beef, alongside delicious vegetarian options.

Facilities

It’s all about the great outdoors here and hiking, fishing and supervised horseback riding can all be arranged by the friendly staff. The fishing is particularly good as Piney Creek is home to enormous Browns and Rainbow Trout. There’s a large heated outdoor pool for cooling off in, or you can indulge in a game of horseshoes or tennis onsite and golf can be organised at one of three courses nearby. There’s a shop where you can buy gifts for family and friends and nightly entertainment by the campfire is a great way to round off the day.
