An excellent stopping route on a tour of Iceland, the drive from Reykjavik is an adventure in itself, taking in dramatic Icelandic scenery including mountain passes and lava fields.
Accommodation
Classic rooms face over the marina, with views of the fisherman’s village and the colourful restaurants that line the street. Choose a Deluxe room for extra space, a balcony with mountain views, a television and coffee machine, or upgrade to a suite for private lounge areas, large balconies and luxurious amenities.
Dining
For light bites, visit the Sunna lobby café and bar, serving everything from burgers, club sandwiches, ribs and Icelandic stews to specialty cakes and coffee. An a la carte menu is served for dinner at the in-house Restaurant Sunna, with a three course menu focusing upon local produce and ingredients to create delicious dishes. Perhaps begin with the Siglo Hotel lobster soup, followed by salted cod with mashed potato, tomato concassse and parmesan cheese, and if you have room, a warm chocolate cake served with ice cream and fresh berries.
