Location
Set within 150 acres of pristine private forest in the heart of the Moteuka Valley, just 50 minutes from the town of Nelson, Stonefly Lodge offers luxury accommodation for guests looking to relax and enjoy fly-fishing in one of New Zealand's most beautiful regions. The lodge is situated between three of New Zealand's major national parks – Abel Tasman, Nelson Lakes and Kahurangi – and is a stone's throw from some of the country's most renowned trout rivers and streams.
Accommodation
Stonefly features just four luxury rooms, all of which have spectacular views across the Motueka River and beyond to the Mt. Arthur Range and the Kahurangi National Park. Rooms feature handcrafted furniture and local New Zealand art and come equipped with a private en suite bathroom and a host of amenities, including complimentary wireless internet and an iPad for use in the guest rooms.
Dining
A large open kitchen and dining room provides a warm and welcoming environment for guests to dine together in a relaxed atmosphere. Food is of the very best quality with much of the produce being sourced from the local region and even the lodge's own extensive gardens. Breakfast can be served either in the dining room or on your private balcony.
Facilities
The lodge features a games room, sunroom, library, snooker table and bar along with a range of activities that take full advantage of the nearby national parks. Head out on guided walks, nature cruises and kayaking trips or sample some of the viticulture with winery tours. The real highlight here, though, is the fly-fishing, with some of New Zealand's best fishing rivers on the doorstep.
