Having opened in 2018, this stylish offering is among the finest in new boutique luxury in Barcelona. Expect everything from a chic cocktail bar and restaurant to elegant suites, spa treatments and a rooftop pool. It’s all wrapped in a privileged, central location, found among the modernist architecture and high-end boutiques of the Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes.
All rooms are delightfully contemporary, richly appointed by designer Jaime Beriestain. Alongside the likes of rain showers and expansive windows, muted tones are offset by accents of oak and walnut. In turn, suite upgrades mix in deep-soak tubs, marbled bathrooms and even expansive terraces.
This being Spain, the dining is a special highlight. And, Virens restaurant. led by Michelin-starred chef Rodrigo de la Calle introduces a proposal on greens and vegetables, with a philosophy of organic farming as a base, the chef offers a culinary sensory experience that gives a special role to natural, vegetable and fungal products.
Perhaps cap it all off with a cocktail in the swish bar, or head to the rooftop for hand-made ice cream and yet more expertly mixed drinks. Here, you’ll also be treated to sweeping views across the city from the pool and sun loungers. There are even rooftop yoga sessions. Then, back downstairs, the facilities extend to a fitness room and a compact spa, complete with treatment rooms, sauna and steam facilities.
