The Danubius Health Spa Thermia Palace on Piešt’any’s Spa Island in south-western Slovakia is a lovingly restored art nouveau gem built in 1912. Its spa offers over 60 special relaxation and regeneration programmes based around the healing powers of thermal water and rejuvenating sulphurous mud.
Piešt’any traces its spa history back to the 17th century, and the town has hosted emperors, monarchs, maharajas, sheikhs and many famous artists and writers. The hotel is located in a picturesque setting on the Váh River on the site of natural thermal springs, where sulphurous mineral waters are heated to 69°C by the earth’s energy and emerge from a depth of over 2,000 metres.
Health & wellness
The spa: The Irma Health Spa has interlinked indoor and outdoor thermal pools including a mud pool and mirror pool, a fitness centre and sauna, and offers a fantastic range of beauty and fitness treatments based on local remedies.
Signature treatment: The Piešt’any Mud Pool combines mineral mud with thermal water. The mud sinks to the bottom of the pool and you simply wallow your way to relaxation.
