Location
Tivoli Doelen directly overlooks the Kloveniersburgwal Canal and the Amstel River, right in the medieval centre of Amsterdam. It’s around a 10-minute walk from Dam Square, while both the Heineken Experience and the Museum Quarter (where you’ll find the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum among several others) are around 20 minutes away on foot or by public transport.
Accommodation
There are 81 rooms and suites in total, with categories ranging from superior and deluxe rooms to junior suites and suites, some of which offer balconies and superb canal views. All of them are spacious, elegantly furnished and bathed in natural light, with marble-tiled bathrooms that come with complimentary Lalique toiletries. Besides these main categories, there’s also the crescent-shaped Empress Suite, where the Empress Elisabeth of Austria once took residence, and the Rembrandt Suite, adorned with a perfect replica of Rembrandt’s ‘The Night Watch’.
Dining
A plentiful buffet breakfast is served every morning, including lots of fresh bread and pastries, cold cuts, cheeses, fruit and yoghurt. Later on, meanwhile, the Omber restaurant offers an innovative menu that draws inspiration from the artistry of Rembrandt, featuring contemporary Dutch dishes prepared with the finest local ingredients. In the evenings, head to the Omber bar for exquisite, handcrafted cocktails and an extensive selection of fine wines.
Facilities
If you’d like to get around Amsterdam on two wheels, as so many of the locals do, you can rent bikes directly from the hotel. A local guide service is also available to help you make the most of your time, while the Guest Relations team will be on-hand to offer any tips, recommendations and directions you might need throughout your trip.
