Location
Viceroy at Ombria Algarve is an expansive inland retreat just north of Loulé, surrounded by rolling green hills, citrus groves and cork and oak forests. Designed to integrate seamlessly with the landscape, the resort feels like an authentic Portuguese village. It offers a tranquil escape from the coastal crowds, yet remains conveniently located; Faro International Airport is just a 30-minute drive away, while some of the Algarve’s finest beaches can be reached in just 25 minutes by car.
Accommodation
The property comprises 76 guestrooms and 65 residences, all featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies or terraces. The design blends Mediterranean influences with neutral tones and traditional tiling. Standard Deluxe Rooms are exceptionally spacious, while the one- and two-bedroom Residences are ideal for longer stays, featuring well-equipped kitchenettes and, in some categories, private plunge pools. Every room includes a marble-clad bathroom with a separate bathtub and rainfall shower, a Nespresso machine, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Dining
Six distinct dining venues celebrate the region’s agricultural bounty. Ombria Kitchen is the resort’s all-day restaurant, serving rustic regional cuisine from a wood-fired oven and grill. Café Central offers a Parisian-style patisserie experience with artisanal breads, while Solalua is the spot for sunset cocktails and Portuguese small plates. Golfers can enjoy comfort food at Casa e Fora, the stylish clubhouse bar and terrace. The dining scene is completed by the Salpico pool bar and the Bellvino wine and cheese bar.
Facilities
The resort is home to an 18-hole, Par 71 signature golf course designed to follow the natural contours of the valley. The 2,000 sqm Viceroy Spa offers state-of-the-art wellness amenities including a thermal circuit, a Finnish sauna, and indoor and outdoor pools. There’s also a fitness centre and an array of experiences on offer, such as honey harvesting, pottery classes, and guided mountain biking and hiking through the surrounding hills.
