Villa Crespi, Lake Orta

Location

Villa Crespi is located on the shores of the beautiful Lake Orta, Italy. The hotel is located a short walk from the medieval village of Orta San Giulio, and an uphill walk to Sacro Monte, a wooded area dotted with chapels featuring life-size statues and spectacular frescoes combined with lake views.

Accommodation

The hotel has 14 rooms named after Arab princesses, and are decorated in shades of blue, gold, red and pink. Most rooms have four-poster beds, lending a grand and opulent feel. and bathrooms are attractive with elegant marble fittings.

Dining

Renowned chef Antonio Cannavacciuolo runs the hotels two-Michelin-starred restaurant. Using ingredients from the Piedmont region, the menu offers dishes from Gragnano linguine with squid and rye bread sauce, bean tagliatelle with lemon and tuna bottarga and a dish of Sicilian scampi prepared with octopus broth.

Facilities

The hotel has some first-class facilities. At the rear of the villa a garden area with lake views that is a pleasant spot for an aperitivo, on the third floor is a compact wellness room where Ayurvedic rituals are offered along with Tibetan bell mediation sessions, excursions in the local area for nature lovers and visiting Alpine pastures can be arranged, plus two-hour cooking classes which are offered free of charge each morning.
