Bardessono is in the centre of impossibly charming Yountville, the culinary capital of the Napa Valley. The tiny town offers guests a luxurious experience, embodying contemporary comforts amid the simplified elegance of wine country living. Suites lie tucked among trickling streams, grey slate walkways and wood and exposed brick features, while inside feels truly opulent, with private courtyards or balconies leading out from the ultra-modern living areas, custom-crafted furnishings and oversized bathrooms that double up as a private spa with a concealed massage table. All 62 suites exploit state of the art technology including a motion-controlled exterior shuttering system, virtual surround sound and iPad compendiums for ordering in-house services. The sprawling Tufa Suites offer the ultimate in comfort and luxury with an upgraded bathroom containing a dual shower-steam room, champagne bath tub/spa and an outdoor shower.
A “field-to-fork” spirit is effusively embodied in the food offering at Bardessono. Lucy’s Restaurant & Bar offers a sleek, unpretentious setting for a menu that's based on the seasonal offerings in and around Napa Valley and the produce from Lucy’s Garden, located onsite only steps from the kitchen. A wide selection of seasonal produce is available all day, ranging from light salads and sandwiches to larger plates, all beautifully presented and complemented by artisanal cocktails and, naturally, an excellent wine list.
Bardessono’s glorious rooftop pool with private cabanas is open to guests all year round and the hotel spa offers a comprehensive menu of treatments, some of which can be taken in the privacy of the bedroom. Don't miss a browse of the fascinating sculptures and murals dotted around the gardens, most of which are available for acquisition, before borrowing a bicycle to explore the local countryside. Of course, there's an endless variety of wine tours and tastings to book, and complimentary yoga classes complete the line-up. Yountville itself is extremely walkable due to its tiny size, and it's a charming way to spend the afternoon, strolling among the many premium shops and renowned first-class restaurants, including the three Michelin-starred “French Laundry”.
