About
Perfectly positioned in the heart of Zambia's Busanga floodplains in the heart of the Kafue National Park, Busanga Bush Camp offers some of the finest wildlife viewing in Africa.
As the yearly summer floods recede, huge herds of wildebeest, buffalo, zebra, red lechwe and puku flock to the region, in turn attracting large numbers of predators, especially lions for which Busanga is particularly well known. Bird enthusiasts will not be disappointed either, with over 490 species inhabiting the area.
The camp itself is small and accommodates only eight guests at a time in four luxuriously appointed tents. The communal area is stunning with the canvas-covered bar and lounge, where breakfast is usually served, boasting gorgeous, uninterrupted views across the misty plains.
Set a little further back under the shade of the surrounding trees, the dining area provides a wonderful spot for evening meals. Dinners are usually served in the open air under the light of a chandelier, suspended from the branches overhead.
The activities are of course the main focus of a stay here and the camp's knowledgeable guides ensure that guests are able to make the most of their time. As well as morning and evening game drives, the camp also offers night drives and walking safaris.
We like: the spectacular sunrises as the floodplains come to life each morning
Best for: unrivalled lion viewing
