Location
Situated in the idyllic Fjærland village, this delightful stay is located right on the waterfront. Surrounded by several villages, mountains and attractions, Fjærland is a lively gem in the spectacular Sognefjord. Only 30 minutes north-west of Sogndal, this is the closest rural airport to the hotel, and is easily accessed from Bergen and Oslo.
Accommodation
A small retreat, Fjærland Fjordstue offers fifteen comfortable and private rooms. All rooms are uniquely decorated, furnished simply yet nicely. Televisions and mini-bars aren't included, instead walls are adorned with books and rooms feature bathrooms, writing desks, chairs, wide beds and views of either the fjord or mountains.
Dining
An intimate restaurant, Fjordstue restaurant serves lunch and dinner daily, to both hotel guests and the public. Open spring to summer, dishes are designed to compliment the ingredients, season and weather, with menus filled with fresh and local produce. Lunches tend to be a leisurely affair, served on the balcony, dining room or garden, where the views and tranquility of the Sognefjord are enjoyed. Done differently, dinner is offered in a three course set menu, perhaps including a starter of honey roasted pear and toasted nut salad, followed by wild caught deer, garlic jus with soft-herb salad, and concluding with a chocolate and hazelnut torte with cardamon ice-cream.
Facilities
Commanding a beautiful location set on the Sognefjord, Fjærland Fjordstue Hotell offers a a private beach, outdoor terrace and range of facilities, to help guests explore the surrounding area. Hire a row boat to go on a fishing trip, take a guided boat tour of the isolated and historic fishing villages along the fjord, rent kayaks or cycle around the idyllic villages. In addition to this, the neighboring area is home the Glacier Museum, where you can cross the glacier, hike mountains and for the adventerous-tackle the zip line.
