Location
Located in an area richly steeped in history and natural wonders, Hotel Husafell is situated supremely in Bogarfjordur, West Iceland, approximately 90 minutes from Reykjavik. Encased by the best of what Iceland can offer, this retreat is an ideal location for the adventurous spirit, with waterfalls, lava caves, glaciers and prime Northern Lights spotting locations in the surroundings.
Accommodation
Standard rooms offer comfort in spacious accommodation, featuring en suite bathrooms, televisions, tea and coffee making facilities and bathroom amenities, with the work of Husafell’s own world-renowned artist Pall Gudmundssson, adorning the bedroom walls. For added luxury, choose the Deluxe rooms. With all the facilities of a Standard, these rooms include extra space, deep bathtubs, double basins and access to a terrace.
Dining
Locally grown produce ensures the rich and flavoursome menu that Hotel Husafell is proud to serve. Traditional Nordic dishes with international influences feature on the seasonal menus in both restaurants. A three course lunch menu can include light salads and soups for starters, followed by shoulder of lamb with pan fried turnips and ending with a selection of cakes, cheeses and desserts. Dinner features a five-course menu, with specially selected wines with every course. Perhaps begin with goose and duck leg confit, before braised pork shank served with potatoes, and ending with hazelnut parfait and spiced poached pears.
Facilities
No trip to Iceland is complete without a soak in the milky blue waters of a geothermal bath- the perfect way to relax and recharge after a day full of activities. The hotel offers an abundance of things to do, from hiking to the forests, lava formations and glaciers, to super jeep adventures and guided ice cave tours. Guests of the hotel are also invited to take part in flightseeing, to witness Husafell’s dramatic landscapes, golf under the Midnight Sun and to seek out the Northern Lights.
