Hotel Iso-Syote

Location

Situated in the Lappish countryside on a hilltop with a panoramic view across forest, hills, lakes and rivers, Hotel Iso-Syote is the ideal Finnish retreat. Located on the top of a hill on the southernmost fell of Lapland, the hotel is built on the highest point in the area meaning it has a unique and picturesque setting with splendid views in all directions.

Accommodation

This hotel is all about Nordic cool, with blonde-wood walls and funky, minimalist design. For stays, it's hard to look beyond the new Aurora View Suites – duplex rooms with private hot tubs. We also highly recommend the Eagle’s View Suite, located on the south corner of the hotel wing and made entirely from glass, giving you a unique chance to admire the midnight sun in summer or gaze at millions of stars in winter. Divided over two floors, it has a private Jacuzzi and a luxury bathroom with private sauna. Other accommodation includes Fell Top Cottages and Kelo Cottages that are built in a traditional Finnish Kelo style.

Dining

The Panorama Restaurant has spectacular views of the surrounding fell. The head chef Arto Posio specialises in local delicacies, and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner alongside a range of tasteful wines. For a wilderness experience, dine in a Lappish Kota. After a day of skiing, visit the Ski Restaurant – an on piste restaurant located at the bottom of the hill. For evening drinks, the Snapsibaari Shot Bar serves drinks that are accompanied by a DJ.

Facilities

For a quintessentially Finnish experience, visit the hotel’s sauna, which is heated daily. There is even the option of the authentic smoke sauna that is near the Lappish Kota and can be heated on request for small groups. There is also a heated swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, massages and a range of facial, hand and foot treatments.
