Location
The Mahua Kothi Jungle Lodge is located in the renowned tiger reserve of Bandhavgarh National Park, tucked between the picturesque Vindhya and Satpura mountain ranges in the central state of Madhya Pradesh. The lodge is also located only ten minutes from the entrance to the park, which is famed for its tiger sightings, a 2,000-year-old fort, and 10th century statue of Lord Vishnu.
Accommodation
The lodge has 12 air-conditioned kutiyas – or bungalows – that are scattered, around an original homestead, which boasts spacious and welcoming guest areas. Each kutiya has its own private courtyard and bicycle allowing guests to explore the grounds. Their interiors include wooden shutters and open rafters with roughly hewn beams and pottery roof tiles. Each has an en-suite bathroom, and homestead furniture creating a homely atmosphere.
Dining
Meals at the lodge are organised around your daily game drives, starting with fresh juice, tea and coffee in your bungalow. On your game drive, enjoy a breakfast picnic that includes Indian delicacies such as poha, pao bhaji and fresh bread. Lunch is served on the veranda or in the baghiya, before an indulgent afternoon tea. For dinner, enjoy Indian and tandoori cuisine, including curries, roasted vegetables, chili and chutney.
Facilities
At the lodge, there are a range of health and fitness amenities including a swimming pool, in-room Ayurvedic massage, and yoga equipment provided in a basket in each bungalow. There’s also a traditional garden, interactive kitchen and safari shop. For game viewing, there are two drives taken a day, and you’re likely to see tiger, leopard, spotted chital deer, nilgai, wild boar and sloth bear among others.
