Location

Located in open, acacia woodlands, the contemporary property blends natural woods, thatch and stone to create a stunning safari. Situated in the southern sector of Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, Makanyi Private Game Lodge is 63km and approximately 50 minutes by car from its closest airport, Hoedspruit.

Accommodation

Each of Makanyi’s seven luxury suites overlooks a magnificent dam, and features an extra-large bed, spacious living area, indulgent bathroom and shower, private deck with loungers and an outdoor shower. All suites ensure the highest quality and service, with premium amenities including a mini bar, Wi-Fi, telephone and tea and coffee facilities found in every room. Two of the seven suites are honeymoon Rooms, located furthest away from the main lodge to maximise privacy. The Honeymoon Suites include romantic add-ons, such as a four poster bed and a private plunge pool on the deck.

Elegant cuisine is served in a stunning setting- breakfasts and light lunches are enjoyed often in the company of a passing rhino or curious monkey, and high tea is always an occasion to look forward to, with a choice of hot or cold drinks and decadent treats. Dinner is always an experience to relish at Makanyi Private Game Lodge , traditional and authentic African cuisine served in the dining room or under the African sky sitting around the fire in the Boma.
