Rock Lodge, Ulusaba, Sabi Sand Game Reserve

Location

Arguably offering the most amazing views over the South African Bushveld, Rock Lodge is situated on hilltop, displaying uninterrupted landscape views. Set upon a backdrop of the Drakensburg Mountains, Ulusaba creates the perfect balance of nature and nurture, the ideal place to unwind and relax, yet also observe the Big Five in action. The easiest method of transport to the Lodge is via air, as Ulusaba maintains its own private landing strip located 80 minutes from Tambo Airport, Johannesburg.

Accommodation

Rock Lodge provides guests with a range of lodging options, including four Rock Cliff Rooms, all adjoining and featuring a private balcony overlooking the vast landscape, and one Rock Suite, including two bedrooms and living area. Other accommodation includes a Master Suite and Makwela Suite; all rooms are individually designed with colours denoting different African tribes.

Dining

Breakfasts and lunches are offered restaurant style, but in the evenings guests dine together at communal tables-whether that is a traditional Braai, local specialities or off the menu. Numerous pan- dishes, influenced by African culture, flavours and spices are created using seasonal and local ingredients. All breads and pastries are home baked daily.

Facilities

Activities include morning and evening game drives, offering the chance to spot wildlife, in the safety of open safari vehicles accompanied by a ranger and guide. Guests are also invited to join in bush walks, bird watching, river walks, and a range of excursions including elephant encounters, scenic flights and cultural tours. At the lodge, guests can unwind at the Aroma Boma, offering a range of optional soothing treatments, swim in one of two pools, and visit the fully-equipped gym or a game on the tennis courts.
