Location
A holiday break at the Royal Palm Beachcomber Luxury offers an unbeatable combination of traditional Mauritian hospitality and pampered luxury. Situated on a fine white-sand beach on the sheltered north-west coast of the island in stylish Grand Bay, the hotel's haute cuisine dining, sumptuous spa and attentive service complete this tranquil tropical hideaway. It's one of Mauritius's most famous and luxurious hotels.
Accommodation
The generously appointed suites are all sea facing and individually air-conditioned, perfectly invoke the tranquillity and beauty of Mauritius. Light and airy rooms, bathed in soft lighting, have wooden accents and splashes of pastel colours as contemporary French windows open onto private terraces with bay views. Amenities include a separate bath and shower, walk-in wardrobes, flat screen television, DVD player, complimentary WiFi and a mini bar. Suites are available in a range of sizes ranging up to the Royal Suite, whose private outdoor area features an Indian gazebo and an infinity pool complete with a whirlpool spa overlooking the beach and the ocean beyond.
Dining
Award-winning chef Michel de Mateis oversees a diverse and inspirational selection of dishes at three gourmet restaurants. Royal Palm’s signature offering, La Goélette is housed in a large terrace overlooking the sea and serves a range of creative dishes along with gastronomic classics. Its walk-in wine cellar invites guests to play matchmaker. For lunch, Le Bar Plage is sited on the beachfront itself under the cool shade of a spreading badamier tree; it serves both international and local favourites. Lastly, for dinner, La Brezza uses high quality local ingredients and those imported from Italy to produce straightforward, authentic Italian cuisine.
Facilities
Rejuvenate your mind and body at the Clarins spa. Built around a swimming pool and a collection of cascading ponds, its 18 massage and treatment rooms offer everything from Ayurvedic sessions to yoga classes. Taking advantage of the resort’s excellent location, there’s a wide range of watersports on offer in the bay’s crystal-clear waters including kayaking, snorkelling, stand-up paddle boarding, windsurfing, water-skiing and speedboat hire.
