Location
Overlooking Fifth Avenue onto Central Park, the hotel enjoys one of the best locations in Manhattan adjacent to luxury department store, Barneys. Start your day with a morning stroll through New York’s slice of greenery before visiting St. Patrick’s Cathedral and the Museum of Modern Art, all just a few blocks away. Come the evening, there’s Carnegie Hall and the Rockefeller Center, both of which are equally close by.
Accommodation
Thanks to the recent makeover, all residential-style guestrooms and suites feature high ceilings and an abundance of natural light, highlighting a neutral colour palette of pale ivory and coral blues. This, in turn, is contrasted by the deep colours of the wooden furnishings, tufted leather headboards and beds adorned in textured silk and brocade fabrics. En suite bathrooms come with rain showerheads and marble-clad soaking tubs. Interactive flat panel televisions, Bose Home Theatre systems and in-room WiFi round off the modern amenities.
Dining
The hotel’s dedication to elevated standards continues into the Pierre’s fine dining experience at Perrine. Here, contemporary American fare is served with only fresh, seasonal ingredients used in dishes. There’s an emphasis on convivial hospitality, augmented by an impressive selection of European vintages. For some afternoon decadence, take tea in the neoclassic Two E Lounge which, come the evening, transforms into a stylish Art Deco Bar serving cocktails to a backdrop of a no-cover live jazz series from Thursday to Saturday.
Facilities
The Pierre boasts that its award-winning concierge team will do everything from tying your bow tie to writing a marriage proposal across the Manhattan sky. Or, you could simply take advantage of their excellent city knowledge and make a booking at one of the city’s world-class restaurants. For those not wanting to miss out on their exercise schedule, there’s a 24-hour fitness centre complete with cardio machines and a weight lifting area.
