About
Each and every one of the 119 rooms and suites at the hotel has a balcony, some of which enjoy superb fjord views. Hand picked works of art and modern furnishings give a sense of style and individuality with a strong emphasis on comfort, from the Italian-designed armchairs to the stylish woollen blankets, bathrobes and slippers that adorn every room.
The sense of style and attention to detail pervades the whole hotel, from the iPad check in facility to the Thief's very own art collection that showcases both emerging and established talents from both Norway and abroad and borrows some of its pieces from the neighbouring Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art.
The Thief's restaurant Fru K, run by talented head chef Karri Innera, utilises the region's finest produce, working closely with local producers and offering an imaginative menu inspired by the best of Norwegian cuisine. The surrounding neighbourhood also boasts a superb array of restaurants, many of which have an agreement with the hotel allowing guests to charge meals back to their room.
We like: Balconies in every room and the location in Tjuvholmen with lots of top restaurants and art galleries on the doorstep.
Best for: Lovers of modern architecture, art and design
