This historic hotel commands a prime location on Broadway and Fourth Avenue in downtown San Diego’s arts and culture district. The history of the building is evident in all 270 guest rooms, with high ceilings, crown mouldings, pillow-top beds dressed in fine Italian linens and regal, Empire-style furnishings found throughout. It’s worth, however, opting for one of the 43 suites, which are noticeably larger and offer additional touches like separate living areas and ten-foot by ten-foot walk-in marble showers with six mounted shower heads. Outside of the rooms, The US Grant remains as glorious as ever it once was, with its grand sweeping lobby, glass chandeliers, filigreed iron railings and well-placed velvet sofas.

Dining 

Located off the lobby and fronting Fourth Avenue, The Grant Grill has been a place for power lunches and sumptuous dinners since it opened in 1951. Certain classics like mock-turtle soup have never left the menu, though today they are accompanied by modern Californian dishes, often flavoured with herbs picked in the hotel’s rooftop garden. The adjacent Grant Grill Lounge offers music and cocktails and is popular with locals and visitors alike, especially during happy hour.

Facilities 

Don’t leave without browsing the hotel’s impressive art gallery, which features sculptures, paintings and both glass and ceramic pieces. Massages and other spa treatments are available in your room or in the eighth floor Spa Suite. The fitness centre is open 24 hours a day, and personal trainers are available for private sessions either outside in the sunshine, in the centre itself, or even in the privacy of your own room or suite.
