Location

Set in the epicentre of Las Vegas’ infamous strip, The Venetian has become something of an attraction unto itself. Accommodation

The hotel proudly asserts that even its standard suites are nearly double the size of the average Las Vegas room. And, while the theme is taken up, it’s a bit more refined than the hotel’s brash exterior with Egyptian cotton sheets, sunken living areas and Roman tubs. Dark wood furnishings, roll pillows and tastefully selected paintings all contribute to a neo-classic aesthetic that celebrates decadence.

Dining

There are 38 restaurants to choose from at The Venetian and its sister property, Palazzo. From the raw seafood bar of Aquaknox to the classic Italian fare of Zefferino, almost every nationality is represented along with restaurants from six celebrity chefs. Highlights include Mario Batali’s and Joe Bastianich’s gourmet take on American favourites at B&B Burger and Beer while Thomas Keller’s Bouchon serves delicately flavoured and prepared French cuisine. Of course, you’ll also find many casual dining options including authentic Italian street-side cafés that look out over the hotel’s ‘Grand Canal’.

Facilities

Pools come in all shapes in sizes from fourth floor cocktail serviced giants to intimate hot tubs and foot-high soakers. If you want a more considered escape from the city’s neon, Canyon Ranch SpaClub has more than 90 treatment rooms that offer more than 150 treatments and, of course, a rock climbing wall. The resort also puts on a range of big-name shows sure to delight while others might be sucked into the stakes of the casino or the weights of the fitness room.
